Increased maintenance activity at Stanlow Manufacturing Complex.

There will be an increase in maintenance activity from this week (20 September).  We plan to have completed this work in early October.

As a result, you may notice an increase in construction activity and some associated noise.  We will schedule the vast majority of this work to take place between 7:30am and 6.30pm.  Some other work may be undertaken outside of these hours and our priority will be to minimise any disruption to our neighbouring communities.

As we are starting the work this week, you may notice an increase in flaring as units are taken off-line.  There may also be a slight increase in flaring as this work comes to an end and the units are brought back on-line.  Flaring is the controlled burning of refinery gases (at the flare structure) from plant safety and vent systems.  The gases are mixed with steam and the steam is added to improve combustion and reduce smoke generation.  Flaring can be noisy, and we will endeavour to minimise it at all times.

During this work, additional contractors will be employed at Stanlow.  This could lead to heavier use of the main roads into the site, including the entrances on A5117, Pool Lane and Oil Sites Road.  Based on our planning, we expect local roads to be busier during the following times: 6.30am - 7.45am and then 6.30pm – 7.00pm.

We would like to thank our neighbours in advance for their patience during this period.
