Tranmere Rovers and Club partner Essar deliver 100 shirts to local school

Tranmere Rovers in the Community along with Club partner Essar, have been working together to strengthen and widen our support with schools in the Cheshire area.

To kick start our relationship, we delivered more than 100 2019/20 replica shirts to pupils from Westminster Community Primary School in Ellesmere Port.

Head Teacher of Westminster Community Primary School, Susan Collins, said: "I think football shirts as a gift are absolutely superb, especially the timing with going on summer holidays and after a tough year for them. This just kick starts the relationship between the school, the Club and Essar.

"The pupils will be delighted and they will be very well received. An extra shirt will mean the world to them and having something extra to wear, especially with it having a badge of a football club they know and recognise.

"What we really like is when people learn from professionals, so people who are actually doing that job, real people. We have some great people in our school who can do the teaching and learning and are good at sports themselves, but we want to learn from real players and coaches who actually do that daily so it brings it closer to life for us."

Speaking about Tranmere and Essar working together to support local schools Susan commented: "That's the way a community should be - a school, a local Club and businesses working together to raise the aspirations of everyone in Ellesmere Port to make a good community for all."

We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Westminster Community Primary School next term with additional activities and player visits planned. Throughout the 2021/22 season we will continue to broaden our partnership, providing unique opportunities across the local area to continue the club's and Essar's mission of equality.
